Halloween treats

Pahrump Valley Times

Pahrump wants to start the Halloween celebration now, as is evident with the events on tap for this weekend.
There are safe houses, trunk-or-treats, safe designated areas and a three-day celebration in Ian Deutch Park.
This weekend
• Pahrump Disability Outreach Program Pumpkin Days is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., Oct. 26-27; and from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Oct. 28 in Ian Deutch Memorial Park. The entrance fee is $5 per day or $10 for the weekend.
Events include a Monster Dash 5k Run beginning at 8:30 a.m. Saturday and a children’s costume parade at 4 p.m. Saturday. The cost for the run is $20 per person or $30 per couple. Students entry fee is $15.
Other activities include a pumpkin patch, hay pyramid, hay rides, straw jump, maze, petting zoo, face painting, train rides and a haunted house.
Nye County Sheriff’s Office will be there as will Pahrump Valley Fire-Rescue Services.
Vendors will have kettle corn, hot apple cider and more. Staging for photograph opportunities will be in place as well.
•The PVHS Key Club will be sponsoring their Annual Halloween Safe Night event   Saturday, Oct. 27, from 4 to 8 p.m., at Pahrump Valley High School.
A $3 donation for children under 16 entitles participants to games, prizes, surprises and more fun.

• Lakeside RV Park will host Trick-or-Treat at the Lake from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., Oct. 28. The event is open to children 12 or under accompanied by an adult.
RV park residents have partnered with Lakeside, which will provide the candy, to offer early treats for the kids. RV owners with candy will each have a glo-stick in the yard at their site marking their participation.
The event is open to the public.
Halloween, Oct. 31
• There will be a Trunk-n-Treat staged beginning at 4 p.m., in the parking lot of the Bob Ruud Community Center.
The event, sponsored by the Cast-A-Ways Car Club, Valley Cruisers and others, will be open until the candy is gone.
• Another Trunk-or-Treat will be from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., in the parking lot of Lakeview Executive Golf Course on East Mount Charleston Drive.
The cars and drivers will be dressed for the occasion.
• Pahrump Nugget Safe Night will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the events center.
