Lakeside introduces live entertainment

Pahrump Valley Times

Over this past summer, Lakeside RV and Casino offered live entertainment in the outdoor amphitheater and according to Golden Gaming Marketing Director Liz Corey, even though the live bands weren’t on a regular schedule, the entertainment was well received.
Golden Gaming has moved forward with the idea of providing additional events, but moving them inside.
“We just wanted to offer not only more entertainment for the RVers, but for people living on that end of town as well,” Corey said.
Beginning at 6 p.m. tonight, Lakeside will offer live music on the casino floor. Corey said anyone familiar with Lakeside will understand when she said a new staging area has been constructed where the fireplace is.
“We moved out the furniture and built a small intimate space where we can offer music from duos or single performers,” Corey said.
“The space is warm and inviting.” Live entertainment is scheduled every weekend through Feb. 16 and Corey said, “This is a test run. We’ll move forward with it if the public enjoys coming out to hear it.”
First on the list of performers is Mixed Company, a duo from Las Vegas who have been entertaining there for over 20 years.
They play all kinds of music from standard, to classic rock and a little R&B.
Using backup tracks and a guitar and keyboards, they “sound amazing.”
The Sam and Danny Duo will play Jan. 25 and 26. Two Smooth, another duo will play three consecutive weekends from Feb. 1 to Feb. 16.
At the Stagebar Lounge inside the Pahrump Nugget, new faces are gracing the stage. Booking agent for Golden Gaming, Cody Stevens, will introduce the Tony Vee band for this weekend.
The four-member, all male band performs music from the 60s to the 90s, Top 40, rock and roll and medleys.
Lead singer, Vee, specializes in the music of Motown, Barry White, Kool and The Gang, Huey Lewis and others.
