I’v been here 9 yrs now and it blows my mind that a Water company and i might add that they have the monopoly ,charge per fixture,sink,tolit.Would it make since to put a meter on the line going in and maybe one on the out side line no wonder we cant get any business hear.Were getting screwed and not getting a kiss

Demeo wasn’t trying to run anything. He was informed that night that this behind the back scheme was going to happen. He was just the one who busted the Parker, Kohbarger, and Campbell bubble. If he hadn’t asked it was obvious this would have happened without ANYBODYS knowledge. Funny how Shuup and Dolan “missed” that meeting.

Thanks Tony !!!!! for this and everything else you do for our town and county.

I’m with Mike on this. I would love to know their route. I’m completely flummoxed as to how they could have traveled from Pahrump to Scotty’s Castle and ended up in the Saline Valley on the way home. The easiest route was Bell Vista/Ash Meadows Road out of Pahrump to CA 127, make a right and then a quick left onto CA 190, then take 190 to the Scotty’s Castle Highway and that to Scotty’s Castle. That’s a total of four roads, paved all the way. Now they might have taken a longer route up 95 to avoid paying the park fee (really?) but that would still be all paved roads. As soon as they got off a paved road they should have realized something was wrong. I can’t believe they accidentally went over the Racetrack Road and up over Hunter Mountain. Or any of the even worse roads out of there. And the long route over the Big Pine Road seems equally implausible. If they returned on the Scotty’s Castle Highway they likely would have had to have made a right on 190 instead of a left (there are signs there by the way!), gone through Stovepipe Wells (I suppose it is possible they confused that with Furnace Creek) then over two much more serious mountain passes than the ones they drove over on the way there. How could they not realize they were going the wrong way? The only good thing they did was not panic. They should be billed for the rescue efforts.

I applied for all office positions, entry level and advanced. I have a college degree and 15+ years in the corporate world as an executive assistant and manager. However, when I was laid off, my credit took a hit. I guess that’s why they either didn’t bother to respond or sent me an email which told me I didn’t meet the minimum requirements. I did not realize they wanted a nerosurgeon to answer phones. I’ve talked to quite a few fellow Pahrumpians who have also experienced this “cold shoulder” and am curious to know exactly how many people who live here will also work there.

One thing is for sure, They do not make enough deoderant to take the stink out of this armpit! I have never seen such a crooked town ! who would ever open up a buisness here is crazy

I think the point was that I dont have insurance to have my wisdom tooth pulled nor do I own a flat screen TV. Why should they have them. Honestly it sounds like summer camp. I work everyday and still can’t make it. Yes my credit has taken a hit because my husband who has worked 40 year in the same job field has not been able to get a job for the last two years, so we were not even concidered for any position at CCA, like most of the applicants here in Pahrump. The paper said that almost half of the staff came from Pahrump or Nye County. From what I heard that is not true. I don’t have the exact numbers but out of all the people I know that applied, about 25, for a position only one was hired.

I live in Beatty and after reading the minutes of their fantasy land meeting,I got such a chuckle out of it and then thought ,it must be fun to spend our money on what ever they can think up in their minds.

where are their priorities..seems like government doesnt know what the word means ..but they can spend money like it theirs.

Keep watching Nascar and the real housewife’s of new Jersey on TV as that is more important than paying attention to what goes on in your community.

Would a 50% increase in rates wake people up from their slumber to get involved?

It’s hard for me to feel sorry when people refuse to get involved with their community.

I do agree the school district moved too fast to condemn Hernandez, and the matter could have been handled in a more proper fashion. However, I was in the same JROTC class as this girl and it was obvious an inappropriate relationship was forming between the two.
