Shadow Mountain Community Players ring in holiday season

Starting off the holiday season the Shadow Mountain Community Players will present “Meet St. Nicholas,” by Karen Asbrand, on Friday, Dec. 6 at 7 p.m., a matinee on Saturday, Dec. 7 at 2 p.m. and an evening performance on Dec 7 at 7 p.m.

It’s a heartwarming tale of how five cranky old geezers find the Christmas spirit themselves when they endeavor to bring Christmas to a young boy.

There will also be a holiday sing-a-long and musical performances on the harp and a stringed duo. The performance takes place at New Hope Fellowship, 781 West St. Admission is only $5 or $2 and two cans of food or other non-perishable food item. Proceeds will benefit the “Path of Hope” food bank, which currently serves over 500 families in our valley. For information on the show call 775-727-6145, for information on the food bank call 775-751-1867.
