It’s almost time for the  annual Show and Shine car show hosted by Pahrump Valley Cruisers Car Club. The event is slated for April 20 in Petrack Park.
This is the largest fundraiser for the organization, which uses proceeds to support the Pahrump Valley High School Art Scholarship program, lend a hand with the Grad Night festivities held for senior students, Food for Thought, Boy Scouts and numerous other contributions.
Every year, the club offers sponsorship packages to area business and asks for donations of raffle items and money to pay for the popular T-shirts.
Recently, the club sponsored the annual art contest to allow youngsters to enter drawings portraying the car club members’ love of classic cars.
Valley Cruiser Chuck Fullen said the organization has gone far and wide seeking donations. “We got a reply from the Stratosphere in Las Vegas. We wanted to give them recognition because they really came through for us.”
He said the Stratosphere committed to a $150 donation toward advertising and T-shirts, raffle items including a one-night stay on the property; plus a buffet breakfast.  The casino property also donated two pairs of tickets to “Pin Up,” starring Clair St. Claire and two pairs of tickets to the Frankie Moreno show for the raffle.
The kids will get excited about the eight all-day ride passes for the Stratosphere Tower.
Anyone wanting to donate should call 751-0994 or 727-6242.
