1. All good things must come to an end. Marie Wujek, longtime publisher of the Pahrump Valley Times, is ending her 15-year career with the paper and we're celebrating her career this Friday. Taking place in the convention center of the Pahrump Nugget Hotel and Casino, located at 681 S. Highway 160, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m., PVT staff, friends and associates of Wujek will converge on the casino to send her on her way in style. Come and share your favorite story with her, take the time to give her one last gripe, or just say thanks. Let's send her off to Arizona knowing that the hard work she did in town was noticed and appreciated.

2. They traveled through space to kick butt, well at least according to their promotional video, Three Blind Mice take over The Hubb tonight (Friday). Playing the classic rock hits that will bring back memories of some of the best times from years past, from Van Morrison's Brown Eyed Girl, Aerosmith's Sweet Emotions, to everyone's favorite drinking song, Margaritaville, the talented trio are sure to play one of your favorites tunes from previous decades. All the fun starts at 8 p.m. and runs through midnight and best of all the event has no cover charge. Drift away again to the Hubb located at 3720 W. Bell Vista Avenue to enjoy the tunes, and maybe find your lost shaker of salt. For more information call 775-910-9575.

3. With it being a fairly slow entertainment weekend here in town, it is as good a time as any to make the trek over the hump and catch up with Hollywood's latest creations. There are films that will please all ages, so it doesn't matter what age you are, there is a movie for you. For the younger crowd, the No.1 hit movie, Straight Outta Compton which follows the forming, rise and fall of a controversial rap group N.W.A. has been winning audiences and critics over. The latest Tom Cruise-led Mission Impossible titled, Rogue Nation can add some action to your life, with the spy thriller. Or maybe Rikki and the Flash, which stars Meryl Streep in a movie about a musician mother who has neglected her family life, trying to make amends with her loved ones.
