Mr. Dolan, I have tried to reach you on multiple occasions, to no avail, on both the subjects of this open letter as well as your candidacy for Pahrump Town Board. The results have been promises to get back to me citing the excuse du jour. As you’ve failed to return contact I am left with writing this open letter to you.
It has come to my attention, through several sources and occasions over the past three weeks, that you are unhappy with the “Reject Incorporation, Reject Dolan” signs, which recently began appearing around Pahrump.
It has also come to my attention that you’ve been blaming the Nye County Republican Central Committee and myself for theses signs and their message. In fact, I’ve been told that you’ve cursed the Republicans and me over this matter and articulated your intent to file suit as well.
I’d like to take the opportunity to tell you that a Mr. Warren Pawliuk has indicated on the Pahrump Freedom Facebook page that he is the sole individual responsible for the content, production and placement of these signs. I have thoroughly checked the records of the NCRCC and see that Mr. Pawliuk is not a member, nor has he attended an NCRCC meeting as a guest so long as I have been chairman of the NCRCC.
I have never met Mr. Pawliuk, however I do admire that he seems to be a politically interested and active fellow intent on exercising his First Amendment rights. I can also understand that you are none too happy with the exercising of those rights by Mr. Pawliuk as his interest in politics seems to be primarily focused on your defeat in this general election.
I also find it interesting that you don’t seem to be denying any of the information on these signs as false or inaccurate. I have yet to take the time to stop and read one of these signs, so the content of them is unknown to me. Suffice it to say that neither I, nor the NCRCC has anything whatsoever to do with Mr. Pawliuk’s signs or message.
As the public records of the Nye County Clerk show that you are a registered Republican it confuses me as to why you refuse to engage the NCRCC and that you have been displaying your campaign materials, not at the Republican Party Headquarters, but with the Progressive Democrats (read “big government socialists”) group here in Pahrump.
As the record of your term on the Pahrump Town Board shows your voting history there, it would seem as though you must have erred when you registered as a Republican. Republican principles are summed up as follows: Smaller government, lower taxes, more individual liberties. Your voting record as a member of the Pahrump Town Board shows anything but adherence to these very basic, guiding Republican principles.
I would encourage you to go to www.NyeGOP.org and read the platform, principles, etc. of the Republican Party so you can learn what the party stands for. If you come to the realization that you don’t stand for these principles, I’d then invite you to take any of the dozens of online political litmus tests so you can find the political party you most closely identify with and re-register accordingly.
Chairman, Nye County Republican Central Committee
