$90,000 estimated for town square park

BEATTY — Dale Doerr, from Lumos Associates, presented the company’s design for the town square park.

Cost estimates for the plan were $52,770 for phase one, and $38,000 for phase two.

Town Board Chairman La-Rene Younghans repeated that the board has not committed any funds for construction of the park.

Some of the labor and materials for the project may be donated, which would bring down the cost, and some of the items, particularly those in phase 2, such as restrooms, may wind up being eliminated.

The layout and sketches of the design should be available for viewing at the town office.

The board gave the go ahead for Lumos to draw up the final plan including final cost estimates.

I live in Beatty and after reading the minutes of their fantasy land meeting,I got such a chuckle out of it and then thought ,it must be fun to spend our money on what ever they can think up in their minds.

where are their priorities..seems like government doesnt know what the word means ..but they can spend money like it theirs.

    good luck to you all

While I can’t comment on the cost, I think having a gateway park in Beatty is great idea. Beatty is a nice little town and sprucing up that entrance would go a long way towards getting visitors to stop and spend some time there. Congratulations to the board for being so forward-thinking.
