Amargosa Valley Medical Facility recognized for excellence

Several Nevada physician's office practices were recognized for demonstrating excellence in patient care, including one in Nye County.

HealthInsight, a nonprofit, community-based health care collaborative, announced 35 physician's office practices across the state received the 2015 HealthInsight Quality Award, and Amargosa Valley Medical Center in Amargosa Valley was the sole Nye County facility to receive the honor.

"HealthInsight is proud to recognize these physician's offices for outstanding care and a focus on quality," said Eileen Colen, HealthInsight Nevada director of outreach. "This year's recipients lead the efforts in use of health information technology to provide quality patient care and demonstrate results through reporting."

The award recognizes physician office practices that incorporate patient engagement tools and strategies into their processes, use care management methods regularly, participate in a data reporting quality initiative and achieve exemplary performance on nationally recognized quality measures related to diabetes, cancer screening and immunizations.

Amargosa Valley Medical Center is located at 845 Farm Road, which offers family medicine, preventive health, women's health, children's health and immunizations, newborn care, pharmacy services and health education.
