Graffiti sprayed on the new Tractor Supply Co. store in Pahrump
The walls on the new Tractor Supply Co. retail store, still under construction, were damaged with graffiti over the weekend, management at the site said.
Tim Beans, job site supervisor, said graffiti was sprayed on two separate walls, one facing south and the other facing west, on the more than 19,000-square-foot building under construction at 900 E. Highway 372.
The damage on the western side of the building had the word “FREE” sprayed on it in white paint, bordered by black coloring. The southern side, with all black paint, was illegible.
“I drove by here at 11 p.m. Saturday night, so I could come check on the yard, check on the machines and everything, and it wasn’t there,” Beans said. “I come back Sunday morning at 8 a.m., and it was there.”
The walls went up two weeks ago, along with the roof, he said.
Beans said he is local and was hired separately by Perry, Utah-based Leading Tech Development LLC—the project’s developer.
Beans said a police report was filed on July 24 and extra security measures are being put in place to keep the site safe.
“We’re going to put cameras in,” Beans said. “I’ll be driving by two to three times a night.”
Construction began in February, with Beans starting in July. The store is scheduled for completion in September.
Construction is still on schedule, and the damage to the building won’t disrupt anything, Beans said.
The Brentwood, Tennessee-based retailer is planning to bring more options for the hobby farm, working farm and animal owner to the local area. This is the brand’s first Southern Nevada location.
