A 52-year-old man was arrested after deputies found him naked, firing a handgun from his porch early Thursday morning.
Todd Kitchner was taken into custody after Nye County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a shots fired call in the area of Manse and Money streets around 7:30 a.m.
When deputies arrived at 4951 S. Money St., they reportedly heard three shots fired from the rear of the property.
According to a press release from the Nye County Sheriff’s Office, deputies followed the sounds to the suspect’s back porch. It was here they observed Kitchner standing naked with a handgun clutched in his right hand.
Once deputies got Kitchner to drop the gun, they began an investigation of the scene.
During this time, it was found the suspect had fired bullets through his own home as well as toward several neighboring residences and a nearby automotive shop.
One of the homes was occupied by a family of six at the time. There were two adults and four children in the residence, none of whom were injured.
Inside the suspect’s home, deputies found multiple bullet holes from several different types of guns. Here they also found shots had been fired in three separate directions from inside the residence; west and south of the property as well as toward the roadway.
The intersection he fired toward is one frequently traveled by motorists, the report noted.
Kitchner was reportedly heavily intoxicated at the time of his arrest.
As reported Friday by Las Vegas TV station KTNV, Kitchner said he regrets what happened and never intended to harm anyone.
“I used to live in Alaska. We used to get away with this kind of crap,” he told the news station. “If I wanted to kill somebody, I would have.”
Kitchner further said that he had been through a lot lately, including taunting from neighbors and an inability to sleep due to severe back pain.
He was booked on two counts of discharging a firearm at or into an occupied residence, four counts of child endangerment, two counts of assault with a deadly weapon, discharging a firearm at a public street, three counts of possession of a firearm while intoxicated and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Kitchner was transported from the scene to the Nye County Detention Center where his bail was set at $43,822. He has since posted bail and been released.

Dear MY neighbor,
I would very seriously warn against this type of behavior.
Thank you for your support,
Generation X
Mr. Kitchner should be very happy he was in Nye County. Had he pulled this act in Clark County, Metro would have made him into hamburger meat and he would not now be available to comment or apologize.
Alcohol and guns is always a bad combination. The article didn’t really dwell on what kind of harassment he was getting from his neighbors, but walking around outdoors naked and drunk may be part of it.
Also, I don’t really believe the citizens of Alaska are allowed to shoot up their houses and into the streets. I suspect if one lived way out in the boonies they may be able to do that (heck, one can do that here if they live out in the boonies) but not so much where there are other homes in the vicinity.
i would be willing to bet that in Alaska one wouldn’t be standing outside naked…. you may get frostbite in all the wrong places…lol
I have some very bad news for this man’s neighbors… HE MADE BAIL !!!
And now he walks among you. Bear ass naked, with a gun, and a bad attitude.
I am guessing property values near him have taken a sudden dive.
Did you all think just maybe this poor man could be someone’s loved one? He was a good good man who loved his family and friends AND ANIMALs very much. He would never cause any harm but because he was medically mismanaged and saddened by recent losses in his own life (including his own mothers death) he was of bad judgement. So glad to know all those sitting around judging him have all this spare time! Why don’t you go out and do something productive with your lives???? RIP TODD KITCHNER We will remember you for not just one incident but for all the beautiful, kind, and considerate things you did throughout your life. Thank you for your contribution to society. You gave your life to service in ways some of your neighbors could only imagine before becoming disabled physically. You made the world a better place just by being in it! your wonderful sisters were amazing and stood up to the jerk neighbor for you! They are so strong intelligent and carry on your legacy.I feel sorry for the heaertless neighbor (old man with filipino girlfriend) who tried throwing Todd’s sisters off the property for tresspassing and HE ENDED UP being the one threatened to be arrested after HE called the sheriffs! WOW!!! REMEMBER THE GOLDEN RULE..abundant blessings to those who knew and loved you AND FOR THOSE WHO NEVER DID.
