Cest Si Bon Cafe

(It’s so good)

1481 Highway 372

775-419-3496

Age: 56

Background: “I ran this same vegetarian cafe in Shoshone for 15 years. I loved working out there and I also worked at China Ranch. I have always enjoyed working outdoors and rural towns. I grew up in Las Vegas and played sports, but never really heard of Pahrump or Shoshone until later in life. Before going out to Shoshone and then Pahrump, I had my own women’s clothing store. In 1999 I sold my store and went to Shoshone to open my cafe. I was after the European market, who love the West. That’s who I survived on. In Pahrump I would like to capture those who want a little of Berkeley in Pahrump. In Pahrump I am the only restaurant going after vegetarians.”

Years in business: “I have been in business for myself over 30 years.”

First job: “I worked for the Las Vegas Housing Authority doing maintenance at 14.”

Personal: “I love to spend time with my son, playing basketball. We shoot a lot of hoops in the yard. I played basketball in high school.”

Business Climate: “My food is all organic. We have a small menu and I grow most of the vegetables. I serve coffee and vegetarian food and we have music on Saturdays in the evening. It’s an open microphone. Anyone can sign up on our Face Book page. People come and sit have a nice conversation. Everything is gluten-free.”
