Woman injured in Pahrump motorcycle crash

Local emergency crews responded to two separate motor vehicle crashes on Wednesday.

The first occurred along Highway 160 at Basin Avenue just after 8 a.m., involving a motorcyclist.

The female rider, who was part of a group of motorcyclists traveling northbound on Highway 160, sustained moderate injuries as a result of the crash.

Crews from Pahrump Valley Fire and Rescue Services assessed the extent of the woman’s injuries in a medic unit.

She was eventually released without transport to Desert View Hospital.

The second crash occurred along Highway 160 at Wilson Road, just before 1 p.m., where a black Mitsubishi coupe and a late-model maroon Nissan SUV collided in the roadway.

The force of the collision forced the deployment of airbags in the SUV.

Pahrump Valley Fire and Rescue, along with Nye County Sheriff’s deputies and NHP responded to the scene.

The female driver of the Nissan was transported to Desert View Hospital with undisclosed injuries.

Southbound traffic along Highway 160 was diverted while crews worked to clear the scene.

A Nye County Animal Control officer was also dispatched to care for a dog the woman was traveling with.
