Letter to the Editor

Here we go again

It seems that Mr. Anthony Greco is back in full swing after a hiatus during the summer months. The story “Most Corrupt County,” in this week’s Mirror is old garbage. He is trashing the Nye County District Attorney’s Office again. In no way, am I defending any actions of Mr. Kunzi. He is a big boy and can do that himself.

What is CORRUPTION?

Illegality; a vicious and fraudulent intention to evade the prohibitions of the law. The act of an official or fiduciary person who unlawfully and wrongfully uses his station or character to procure some benefit for himself or for another person, contrary to duty and the rights of others. U. S. v. Johnson (C. C.) 20 Fed. 082; State v. Ragsdale. 59 Mo. App. 003; Wight v. Rindskopf, 43 Wis. 351; Worsham v. Murchison, 00 Ga. 719; U. S. v. Edwards (C. C.) 43 Fed. 07 (Law Dictionary).

What is EVIDENCE?

Every type of proof legally presented at trial (allowed by the judge) which is intended to convince the judge and/or jury of alleged facts material to the case. Evidence must survive objections of opposing attorneys that it is irrelevant, immaterial or violates rules against “hearsay” (statements by a party not in court), and/or other technicalities (Law.Com).

Mr. Anthony Greco has not produced any evidence, whatsoever to justify his claims of Corruption in the Nye County District Attorney’s Office. Or for that matter, any other official of Nye County. Maybe it is time for him to pack his bags and leave Nye County now.
