Letters to the Editor

Shame, shame on us!

What a shame that the Cup of Faith store had to close its doors after trying at two different locations.

It was a great store where the owner had wonderful religious items for all different occasions and holidays.

To my knowledge, in the 21 years I have been here, this is the third religious store that couldn’t make a success of it because of our lack of support. So, so sad!

Thank you from Relay for Life

The 2014 Relay for Life Committee would like to thank Floyd Elementary and Manse Elementary for allowing us to hold the first ever Relay Recess in Nevada at their schools. On the week of Oct. 7th to 11th, the students wore purple and participated in Penny Wars, raising $674 at Floyd and $508 at Manse elementary. On Friday of that week, the students walked laps around their tracks in a mini Relay.

A big thank you to all the staff and parents for their help and participation, the Committee members who volunteered their time to help out at the two schools and our staff partner Shannon Moore.

All monies raised go to the 2014 Relay for Life, which will be held at Petrack Park on May 16 and 17.
