Another wholesome story — this one from the Review-Journal: “Manager’s salary remains frozen.”
It is about a brave and dedicated lady, Virginia Valentine, Clark County manager, who declined a pay raise in spite of her $207,000 per year salary.
“I think it would be completely inappropriate to ask for any salary increase,” Valentine said during her evaluation. And she runs an organization with 10,500 full-time workers.
So what’s that got to do with Pahrump? I offer that waste, fraud and corruption are more of a way of life for elected and entrenched bureaucrats in this Wild West community.
Economic depression and foreclosure statistics are seemingly a non-concern for these sinecure folks, the way they give away and waste our tax dollars.
How many more times will it take an out-of-control town board to finally get what the meaning of the word “no” is with respect to the many costly studies for incorporation, the latest being $35,000?
An weren’t the three liberal Democrats on the board responsible for foisting the narcissist Kohberger as town manager on us tax slaves and who is currently up for revaluation of his $107,000 per year salary?
Never mind that this slick egomaniac violated his oath of office and Nevada law by spending our money, not his, on that superfluous and costly study, when in fact his hands are tied with limited authority to a $5,000 spending spree.
But that is only a tid-bit of his know-it-all attitude, especially toward senior senile? citizens: A couple years ago, while entering the town office at approximately two minutes to noon for information, another lady arrived one minute after and a a bureaucrat from across the room, while seated at her desk, hollered out, “We are closed.” And on a 155 degree day, no less. So the lady obediently took off.
Not believing what I just witnessed, I shouted, “Shame on you — you couldn’t get off your butt and show the lady some respect on one of the hottest days, because your lunch hour is more important than to serve your fellow human being — yet we taxpayers are footing your better than average salary.
Big Bill ran towards me in a threatening manner, shouting that I had no right to treat my employee in such a way. Is this the standard used in hiring incompetents? Any bets that this boob will be rehired, instead of becoming a guest of DeMeo’s Crowbar Hotel?
A clean sweep of both town and county bureaucracies is at minimum — the very least that taxpayers deserve, along with some respect. It is only common sense, after all.

Wow vince get a hobby no body cares what you have to say.
Kohberger needs to be fired once and for all. This guy is a way the heck out of touch and a danger to freedom in this town.
It sounds like the whole incident could have been handeled a little better if everyone had calmned down to begin with. If the Town Office door had been locked during the lunch hour, the lady probably would have returned after lunch. The author of the letter refered to the lady as a seniel senior citizen which was uncalled for and I doubt seriously doubt that the tempeture was 155 degrees. Never have seen it that hot here. Also, jails are sometimes referred to as CrossBar Hotels, not CrowBar Hotels. As far as the replacement of the Town Board and the County Commisioners, I agree with him but that has to be done through the voting system which is done by all the citizens in a legal fasion.
First of all I do not agree with everything said in this letter. But, I DEFINITELY agree with FIRING KOHBARGER !!! He will end up costing this town a lot more then just his salary

I’ll second that.
