Beatty boys take fourth seed in playoffs with win

In its last game of the season, the Beatty boys basketball team beat Sandy Valley at home, 66-19.

With this win, the Hornets improve to 3-3 in league and finish as the fourth seed in the playoffs. They play Adelson School, the fifth seed, on Wednesday at Beatty at 6 p.m.

The winner will play Pahranagat Valley on Feb. 15 at Chaparral High School at 8 p.m.

Beatty had only eleven turnovers on the game against Sandy and hopes to capitalize on their recent scoring in the playoffs.

Leo Verzilli, head coach, said “We played mostly our seniors because it was senior night. They all played great even when they were out of position,” he said.

Beatty girls beat Sandy Valley too, 64-16. Beatty finished 5-2 in league as the third seed and will play Lund on Wednesday. Lund is the fourth seed. The game is at Beatty at 4:30 p.m.

The winner will play Pahranagat Valley on Feb. 15 at Chaparral High School in Las Vegas at 3 p.m.

Carlos Gomez 16 points, Chris Dunlap 13 points, and Levy Reed 11 points.
