Beatty track does well at The Meadows meet

Beatty track ran at the Meadows Weekday meet, which was a Division III and IV event.

The boys team finished in fourth (56 points) and the girls team finished in third (77). For the Hornets, it was one of their better meets for it allowed them to see where they stood with other teams in their talent range.

Winning the boys meet was Spring Mountain (209), second was The Meadows (82.5) and Andre Agassi was third (64.5).

The boys team had a good showing out of nine teams. They didn’t take any first places but had some second places.

In the 3,200-meter run, Brandon Rebujio took second (12 minutes, 29.20 seconds) and in the shot put Bryan Ortiz threw for a second place (36 feet, 4 inches).

The Hornets also took second in the 4x200-meter relay (1:42.27) composed of Michael Olson, Jhonpaul Adajar, Nahum Favela and Jacob Oseguera.

The first place girls team was Andre Agassi (209), second was The Meadows (101) and fourth was Calvary Chapel (63).

The Beatty girls also had a good showing out of seven teams.

The girls had one first-place showing. Arianna Oseguera took first in the shot put (25-09) and she took third in the discus (67-03).

The Lady Hornets took second in a few events. Jasmine Pelayo took second in two events, the 1,600 (6:46) and the 3,200 (14:46.18). Then they had a second place relay team, where they got a second in the 4x800 relay (12:50.70) composed of Anel Gamboa, Andrea Leon, Jasmine Pelayo and Karina Villanueva.

Vanessa Gamboa captured third in the 100 (13.70).
