Pahrump boys comes up short against Spring Valley

The Trojans boys basketball team is winless in league play but the one thing you can't call them is losers for they have one quality that most teams do admire and that's the fact they still put on the uniform every week and don't give up.

Trojans coach John Toomer said his Trojans (2-12 overall, 0-7 Sunset League) struggle in every aspect, but the one thing they don't struggle with is guts.

"The one thing I love about this team is they never give up and play hard from the opening tip to the final buzzer," he said.

Despite the loss to Spring Valley (7-6, 2-3) on Tuesday, the Trojans had two players in the double digits in scoring, a feat that has been rare lately. Bryce Odegard had 11 points and Danny Foss had 10 points.

"We played hard and struggled shooting, which has been our downfall all year," the coach said. "If we had shot like we did on Friday as a team, we could have won last night. Spring Valley was very physical and we shot 21 free throws, but the bad part was we only made 10. We are getting closer to having a complete game with even scoring in each quarter."

The Trojans travel to Faith Lutheran (11-5, 4-1) on Saturday at 6:30 p.m.
