Business Profile: Tiffiny Luttrell

Camp K-9, 50 West Basin Ave., 775-990-3924

Age: 46

Background: “I have been boarding and grooming dogs in Pahrump for about a year. I also breed Shih-Tzu dogs. I got started doing this in Las Vegas and did this for five years out there. For the longest time, I slaved away in the casino business for 14 years working with slot machines and I finally got tired of that and decided to get into business for myself.”

Years in business: “I have been grooming dogs for seven years.”

First job ever: “I worked at Chuck E. Cheese as a birthday coordinator at 15 years old.”

Personal: “I like doing things outdoors. For me this means going up to the mountains and watching the wild horses. I also like spending time with all my pets. I even have three pot-bellied pigs and a miniature horse.”

Business climate: “The economy has been good and for my business. Since I opened the boarding part of my business, I have done even better, but people can make it in this town just grooming dogs. I call it Camp K-9 because each dog has its own 12×6 space and they have their own TV. At our place we try to make the dogs experience as close to home as possible.”
