Desert View Hospital is set to host another community-focused event aimed at educating residents on a variety of health-related topics.
In partnership with Roseman University of Health Sciences, Desert View will host its annual Autumn Health Awareness Festival Saturday, Oct. 10, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the hospital located at 360 S. Lola Lane.
This year’s health fair will feature more than 30 exhibitors, including many direct service providers who will offer a variety of no-cost screenings.
Vision and dental screenings will be offered, along with glucose and cholesterol testing.
To get all residents prepared for cooler weather on the way and with it a higher chance of becoming ill, no-cost flu shots will also be provided to attendees who are uninsured or underinsured.
“We are excited to once again bring this health fair to our community,” said Meagan Kowalski, director of marketing at DVH. “This is a great event that allows our community to come to one place to learn about all of the wonderful services our town has to provide, as well as take advantage of no-cost screenings they may otherwise never take the time to have done.”
The festival is just one of many events Desert View Hospital utilizes throughout the year to build on its commitment to community involvement. The hospital hosts various health clinics and other special events like the back to school drive each year, usually at no cost to those who attend.
