Kiwanis laughter returns to Sanders Winery

“Laughter Under The Stars” comedy show appears at Sanders Family Winery Friday and Saturday, Sept. 26th and 27th. The show is sold out for tonight but Saturday’s performance still has tickets available at $20 per person. The gates open at 6 p.m. The show begins at 7:30 p.m. People are invited to bring a picnic or snacks. The winery offers free wine tasting.

Three internationally famous comics will bring high-energy entertainment to a beautiful outdoor setting.

Andy Kern has performed in comedy clubs, casinos, on VH-1 and Comedy Central. Kern kicks off the evening with his unique style and then emcees the rest of the show.

Al Gavi brings his Colombian heritage to his routine. He has appeared at the famous Comedy Store in La Jolla, Calif. He performs at comedy clubs across the country, and has performed for the military troops. He also has a weekly radio show on KNSJ in San Diego, Calif.

David Burleigh headlines the show. He is a comedian and impressionist. His uncanny ability to impersonate just about anyone landed him a starring role as Charlie Sheen in “Not Another Celebrity Movie.”

Burleigh’s characters, voices and impressions were showcased on the 2012 season of “America’s Got Talent,” where he became a fast favorite of both judges and fans. The famous “Shock Jock” Howard Stern said, “He has an excellent command of the stage,” according to a press release. Fellow comedian and actor, Howie Mandel, added, “His impressions were spot on.”

The show was originally scheduled for only one night as a scholarship fundraiser for Kiwanis Club of Pahrump Valley. One hundred percent of the proceeds go to the Kiwanis scholarship fund to assist students in Pahrump. Kiwanis only wanted to do one night instead of the normal double-night event as it has done in the past. The winery made special arrangements with the “Comedy Machine” booking agency to hold the event over for Saturday night.

Winery owner Jack Sanders said, “The comedy show has grown in popularity over the years. I anticipate that we will have another sell-out crowd for Saturday.” He added, “The Winery has an extensive email list. We have sent out the announcement of the added performance. I’m pleased that the PV Times is informing our local community. I wouldn’t want them to miss the opportunity to see one of our most well-received shows.”

The Winery is located on the south side of Pahrump. The building’s architecture is modeled after a Renaissance Italian Tuscan village. In addition to its wine tours and private event bookings, it hosts outdoor public entertainment events during the fall season. Its nighttime shows are set on the patio in a cabaret-style setting with the vast night sky as an additional draw to the variety of events offered.

Sanders Family Winery is located at 3780 E. Kellogg Road. For reservations call 775-727-1776.
