Mike Hickey normally only hosts the Sunday jam session at the HUBB with Dean West and Wild Bill, but tonight he will be performing solo with songs from Jimmy Buffet, Neil Young, Cat Stevens, Merle Haggard and George Strait.
Along with his full-time job as a Realtor, Hickey has been playing music for 40 years and calls himself a “weekend warrior.”
“I’ve played in bars, mostly, and have probably played in 20 or 30 bands over the years,” he said. “I have played country, rock, blues and acoustic mellow stuff.”
Hickey is from Yuma, Ariz., originally, and lived in Phoenix and Pinetop before moving to Pahrump.
He said, “After all of these years I still love to play. Have guitar — will travel, but not too far.”
