It’s going to be a packed weekend even without live music at the Nugget. For the second weekend this month, the Stagebar Lounge will be dark. However, Mason Dixon is on the schedule for next weekend.
Classical guitar enthusiasts will want to attend the free concert by David Grimes and Gregory Newton at 2 p.m., Oct. 25 at the library. This will be the fourth year for the duo’s performance sponsored by the Pahrump Arts Council.
The Soroptimists International of Pahrump will auction off those blinged-out bras at a fundraising event set to begin at 6 p.m., Oct. 25, at PV Wings ‘n’ Things on Loop Road.
Appetizers, door prizes, a silent auction and a 50/50 drawing will be part of the festivities.
The 18 submitted bras have been on display at Saitta-Trudeau so the public could take a peek and pick a favorite bra. Tickets are $10 each and proceeds will go to help local breast cancer patients and breast cancer research. For tickets, call 702-592-5276.
A little ahead of time, but fun for the kids is the Haunted Acres walk from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., Oct. 24 and 25. The event will be at NyE Communities Coalition, 1020 E. Wilson Road. Call 727-9970 for more information.
The Pahrump Valley Obedience Club is holding its annual field trial rally Oct. 25 and 26 next to McCullough Arena at Petrack Park.
The public is invited to watch dog handlers put Fido through his paces starting at 8 a.m. each day.
The club is looking for new members as well and it offers three sets of obedience classes throughout the year.
The Maverick Saloon &Dance Hall on Mesquite Avenue is celebrating Halloween both this weekend and next.
The event will feature live music from Press Rewind and Wretched Soul Kids starting at 8 p.m., Oct. 25. Those in costumes will be privy to drink specials. Anyone wanting to enter the costume contest will have to have a $5 buy-in to win a prize.
The HUBB has AJ Alvarez playing Oct. 24, starting at 8 p.m., and Oct. 25 the bar will host a fundraiser Bike Night for the Tribe MC.The event supports the Christmas toy run sponsored by Oasis Outreach.
The event begins at 3 p.m. and features live music, food and drinks, vendors selling biker gear and jewelry and a 50/50 drawing.
Furnace Creek Ranch will host a star party at sunset Oct. 24 and 25. The event will be narrated by Las Vegas Astronomical Society.
Don’t forget the Shadow Mountain Community Players’ call for auditions. It is seeking actors for Agatha Christie’s “The Hollow.” There are 12 parts, six for women and six for men.
