The menu (subject to change) and activities for the week of Dec. 18 – Dec. 22. Two percent milk and juice available daily:
Monday – Orange chicken, rice, peas, oriental salad, fruit, soup;
Tuesday — Spaghetti with meat sauce, squash, colorful salad, 7-grain bread, veggie blend, fruit yogurt, soup;
Wednesday – Chicken broccoli with rice, beet salad, muffin, fruit;
Thursday — Low-sodium kielbasa, parsley potatoes, sauerkraut, applesauce, pinto bean soup;
Friday – Baked ham, dinner roll, broccoli casserole, yams, fruit salad, cherry surprise, soup.
ACTIVITIES
Monday — Exercise class, 9:30 a.m.; beading group, 1 p.m.; poker, 12:30 p.m.;
Tuesday — Exercise class, 9:30 a.m.; Boy Scouts singing Christmas carols, 10:30 a.m.; haircuts, 1-3 p.m.;
Wednesday — Crafty Ladies, 12:30 p.m.;
Thursday — Men’s Breakfast meeting, 8 a.m.; exercise class, 9:30 a.m.;
Friday — No exercise class; Christmas dinner – 11 a.m. seating, noon seating.
Amargosa Valley Senior Center
The menu (subject to change) for the week of Dec. 18 – Dec. 22:
One percent milk available daily. Meals are served at the Amargosa Valley Senior Center from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Breakfast served from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m.
Monday — Spaghetti with meat sauce, baked acorn squash, colorful salad, fat-free creamy Italian dressing, 7-grain bread with low-fat low-sodium margarine, strawberry-banana yogurt pop;;
Tuesday — Fish nuggets, oven browned parmesan potatoes, coleslaw, bananas, pineapple upside-down cake;
Wednesday — Turkey chili, cornbread, mixed green salad, low-sodium low-fat Italian dressing, ambrosia;
Thursday — Beef rib roast, mashed potatoes with gravy, steamed harvest vegetables, whole wheat dinner roll, fruit, pie and warm apple cider;
Friday — Biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs, low-sodium sausage, mixed fruit, oatmeal, orange juice.
Beatty Senior Center
The menu (subject to change) for the week of Dec. 18 – Dec. 22:
One percent milk available. Meals are served at the Beatty Senior Center from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
Monday – Beef patty on a whole wheat bun, sliced tomato and lettuce, baked beans, cantaloupe chunks;
Tuesday – Baked ham, scalloped potatoes, broccoli, whole wheat dinner roll, apple or cherry pie, salad bar with chickpeas;
Wednesday – BBQ chicken, sour cream potato salad, steamed spinach, pears, whole wheat roll;
Thursday – Turkey chili, cornbread, ambrosia, mixed green salad.
