The Pahrump Valley Museum and Historical Society’s lecture series continues on Saturday with Theresa Skye from Ash Meadows National Wildlife Refuge.
Skye has been an active outdoor enthusiast and involved in environmental issues for decades.
Museum Director Marilyn Davis said Skye, a retired educator, will discuss the historical significance of the refuge as well as the new visitors’ center.
“She continues to be a part of the environmental education by assisting in field trips to the Ash Meadows National Wildlife Refuge,” she said. “She has spent many hours volunteering and helping introduce their new visitors’ center to the public.”
Skye, who also volunteers at Death Valley National Park, has never been the featured lecturer at the museum.
Next year, Skye will assist with tours in Death Valley, along with her husband David.
Both spend many hours on the trails, hiking and learning more about the Mojave Desert flora and fauna.
The final lecture of the year is scheduled for Saturday Nov. 14 at 1 p.m.
The museum is located at 401 East Basin Ave., west of Highway 160.
