VEA to host annual Fill the Bucket Drive Aug. 1

Valley Electric Association, Inc. is set to hold its annual back to school drive next week.

In an effort to provide valuable support for local students, Valley Electric, a member-owned electric cooperative headquartered in Pahrump, will host its annual Fill the Bucket Truck School Supply Drive on Aug. 1 at multiple locations in Pahrump.

During the day-long charity event, the public is urged to come out and donate school supplies that will be handed out at 11 schools within VEA’s service area.

“€œThis popular event continues to serve as a great opportunity for VEA to partner with community members in supporting hard-working students across southwestern Nevada,”€ said VEA Community Relations Representative, Cassandra Selbach. “€œWe are impressed every year by the community’s widespread participation.”€

Donations of school supplies and cash will be accepted at multiple locations from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and VEA employees and ambassadors will be stationed at select locations to collect donations.

Donations will be accepted at the following drop-off locations:

Smith’s Food & Drug located at 601 S. Highway 160, and Wal-Mart Supercenter located at 300 S. Highway 160.

In addition, community members can also drop school supplies off at these locations through July 31. Monetary donations will not be accepted at these locations.

VEA’€™s Pahrump office located at 800 E. Highway 372;

Pahrump Valley Auto Plaza located at 2060 E. Charleston Park Ave.;
