1. If you’re experiencing a bit of the holiday blues and need a good laugh, head on over to the Pahrump Nugget tonight for a night of comedy. Featuring comedian Christine Little, the show starts at 7 p.m. at the events center inside the hotel and casino. Little has been featured on the Fox Network’s “Laughs,” and “Work of Genius” and is ready to bring her act to the valley. Tickets for the show will run you $10 and included in the admission is $5 in free slot play. So make your way to the Pahrump Nugget, located at 681 South Highway 160 tonight if you’re ready to laugh the holiday blues away. 2. The Art Gallery of Pahrump will host a holiday open house Saturday. For emerging local artists, there will be an art contest that is free to enter. Interested participants are asked to bring in their best winter or holiday scene original art. There is a cash prize up for grabs for the winner, so get your creative cap on and whip something up. Who knows, you might win a little extra Christmas spending cash. There is also a reverse drawing contest, where entrants will draw a picture with their opposite hand. Throughout the event there will be raffles being held, with one of the bigger prizes up for grabs being a signed and numbered limited edition western print by Rodney Webb, that will be given away at the Wild West Extravaganza in May. The event takes place Saturday from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. at the Pahrump Art Gallery located at 601 East Street, next door to the library. For more information on the event call 775-537-7958.

 

3. If you are looking for a unique holiday gift and aren’t of the creative type, then an event this weekend is for you. Taking place Saturday from 9 a.m. through 5 p.m. at the Bob Ruud Community Center, Stardust Chapter No. 32, Order of the Eastern Star is sponsoring a holiday craft fair. Those in attendance can choose from Christmas decorations, jewelry, ceramics, linens, cards, and paper and wood crafted items to fill that gift void. For those who are in the mood for some holiday treats or want to gift something sweet there will be a bake sale table as well. If you work up a hunger shopping the event, hamburger and hot dog lunches will be available for purchase.
