Cole Reeves and the Broken Arrows pack’em in

After a brief hiatus, Cole Reeves and his band, the Broken Arrows linked back up with The Hubb Bar and Grill as the popular tavern’s house band.

Playing their tunes, a mix of new and outlaw country, the group packs the patrons into The Hubb on Saturday nights.

From 8 p.m. until midnight or later, Cole Reeves and the Broken Arrows jam out for the crowd that is usually on their feet dancing.

“We came about at The Hubb while they were remodeling,” Reeves said. “We stopped in and we met the owners of The Hubb and I became good friends of theirs.”

After striking up that relationship, Reeves moved to Arkansas for a year, but when he was ready to make his way back to Pahrump, he contacted The Hubb and set up the house band gig.

“After doing shows there on Saturday nights for seven months I left for awhile,” he said. “Now we’re there again, doing every Saturday night.”

Pahrump residents have taken to the band as they fill The Hubb to see their shows, but if they can’t get in that doesn’t stop some from still enjoying the tunes.

“The last time a person commented on Facebook saying that it was too busy to get in the bar, so they sat out in their car and listened to our band,” Reeves said. “So it’s very packed and people usually reserve tables to make sure they have a seat.”

The band recently went on a short tour, which took them to various cities in the middle of the country.

“We played in Tulsa, Oklahoma; Jayne, Missouri; Fayetteville, Arkansas and in New Mexico,” he said. “They were all really great shows, we played in some casinos and club venues.”

Although life on the road has its benefits, Reeves explained he likes the familiarity of being a house band as opposed to touring.

“I personally would rather be a house band,” he said. “I really enjoy learning the crowd, knowing everybody that’s coming in every night. It’s more of a personable type of show. Everybody knows one another and I know everybody so it makes for a funner time.”

During the time Cole Reeves and the Broken Arrows are playing, coins are given out to bar patrons for ‘happy minute.’ At a random time during their four-hour set, happy minute will be called and the bar will serve as many patrons with coins as possible with $1 drinks for that 60-second time period.

There are also plans for the Cole Reeves band to play The Hubb’s New Year’s Eve bash and more details will be released on the event as they become available.

So if you’re looking for a good time on Saturday nights starting at 8 p.m., Reeves invites all to come out to The Hubb and have a rockin’ good time.
