One of the valley’s biggest tourist and entertainment attractions is set to add even more reasons to visit its business.
Sanders Family Winery, which already offers a wide variety of entertainment including comedy, classic rock, nostalgic 50’s, 60’s and 70’s live bands, as well as big name impressionists and classic country and blues, is going to bolster its entertainment offerings, adding two new shows this weekend.
“As part of our cultural entertainment, we are pleased to be able to attract such great artists and talent to our venue,” said the owner of Sanders Family Winery, Jack Sanders. “This will be our first weekend to offer two entirely different programs, a Broadway-style review on Friday and Jazz on Saturday.”
In their effort to bring a wide variety of entertainment to Pahrump, Sanders Winery is hosting a Broadway-style musical review Friday night titled, “A Magical Musical Tour.”
The show starts with music from the war years of the early 1940s and progressively moves the audience forward in time to present day.
Through a series of musical arrangements, costume changes and a narrative that ties each decade together to a successful musical conclusion, the show stars lead vocalist Lynn Peterson with orchestration and backup vocals by “The Phatt Kattz.”
Saturday offers a completely different entertainment opportunity as award-winning jazz musicians are set to play the winery.
The concert-style event called, “The Story of Jazz,” features several renowned musicians, including the Grammy-nominated pianist Uli Geisendoerfer.
Geisendoerfer has several CD’s to his credit and his song, “3-41″ won top honors at the 13th Annual Independent Music Awards in the fusion/jam category. The awards deliver year-long marketing and sales support plus performance and licensing opportunities that place winners and nominees in front of one billion music fans, according to the Awards’ website.
He also placed second and third in the Monterey Jazz Festival Competition.
Joining Geisendoerfer for the evening of jazz are vocalist Michelle Johnson and saxophonist Charles McNeal.
