Age: 40

Years in business: “I have been working in marketing for 17-23 years.”

Background: “I am an artist and do acrylic paintings or modern abstract symbolism. The store will have resale, resale by local artists, antiques, jewelry and yard sale-type items. We will even have some consignment items. We are not just a thrift store and we want to be part of the community. This will be my first time in this type of store but my partner, Ed Rommel, has plenty of experience in thrift stores. He is a jack-of-all-trades. Our store will be a charitable store. Our first fundraiser is this weekend for Covenant Lighthouse Ministries. We will be raising money for the homeless. My partner and I are both handicapped and have put ourselves to work. We understand needs. We have made jobs that we can do.”

First job: “I worked at the Waffle House.”

Personal: “I like to spend time with my Great Danes. I also do numerology as a hobby.”

Business Climate: “What sets us apart from other thrift stores is we are a charitable store, and we won’t be just clothing. In addition, we will also carry tools like construction tools, handyman tools. We will be more versatile than a normal thrift store. We will be helping the community.”
