After a long stretch of unseasonably warm weather, a cold front came in earlier this week, bringing temperatures down with it.
Today will top out at 62 degrees, or 17 degrees cooler than the 79 degrees Pahrump saw on Tuesday.
Temperatures will rebound slightly this weekend, making for ideal conditions for outdoor activities.
“The weekend looks pretty nice overall,” said Chris Outler, National Weather Service meteorologist. “Even though it will be a lot cooler than it has been, it’s still going to be actually a little above normal.”
When the work week begins, a chance of precipitation presents itself to the valley, as a storm system will move in from the Pacific Ocean.
“The better chance is Monday, as there is a 20-percent chance right now and that will most likely be going up a little bit as it gets closer,” Outler said. “Then there will be a 10-percent chance on Tuesday.
“It’s not a real strong system, but it’s going to have that potential to bring us some showers. We’ll probably begin seeing some increasing clouds as early as Sunday evening.”
After the weather system passes through, temperatures will remain in the low-to-mid-60s with overnight lows falling into the lower 40s.
