COPS: Man flashes meth, gets arrested
A suspect who allegedly showed a man walking through a parking lot what appeared to be a meth pipe was arrested last week after telling a deputy he “did a very stupid thing.”
On Jan. 29 at approximately 1:10 p.m., a Nye County Sheriff’s deputy was working on an investigation in the Walmart parking lot when he was stopped by a bystander who said another man had just ridden his bike past him and showed him what appeared to be a small glass pipe.
He said the man was also holding a small clear baggie, which he said the other man was holding out toward him as if to show him.
The deputy found the suspect, Justin Coday, around the corner and stopped him for questioning. Coday allegedly admitted to having a meth pipe in his pocket. Along with the pipe an arrest report notes the officer also found a small baggie with what appeared to be meth inside it.
Coday admitted to showing the other man his meth pipe, the report states, but said he was not trying to sell it. He also reportedly told the officer he “did a very stupid thing,” and that he “wasn’t thinking.”
He was subsequently arrested and transported to the local jail to be booked into custody.
COPS: Drunk person booked after relieving himself in public
Police took an allegedly intoxicated man into custody last week after he allegedly urinated in front of several people outside of LJ’s Market near Blagg and Simkins roads.
At approximately 7 a.m. on Jan. 29 a deputy was dispatched to the convenience store for a report of an intoxicated man who urinated in front of a group of people.
When the officer arrived, he made contact with the male, identified as Scott Bardsley, and noted the man appeared to be heavily intoxicated.
When the officer asked Bardsley if he had urinated in front of people, the man allegedly stated he had before he began laughing.
Bardsley was then arrested on a charge of indecent exposure.
COPS: Man assaults 71-year-old with rocks
One man was arrested last week for assault with a deadly weapon after police received a complaint he had thrown rocks at an elderly cancer patient in a local homeless camp.
According to an arrest report, on Jan. 30 a deputy took a report from a 71-year-old man who said the suspect, later identified as James “Jimmy” Saunders, had thrown rocks at him as he was preparing to leave his friend’s trailer in a homeless camp behind the Pahrump Nugget.
Although he said none of the rocks hit him, he said they did land close to him as he tried to leave.
The elderly man, who told an investigating officer he has terminal cancer, also allegedly stated Saunders has been causing multiple disturbances in the area, but people have been afraid to report him.
Saunders was subsequently placed under arrest and transported to the Nye County Detention Center to be booked into custody.
