Woman jailed for assault
Nayoma Parker was jailed on April 2 and charged with aiming a firearm at a human, possession of drug paraphernalia and assault with a deadly weapon after deputies responded to a report of a female pointing a firearm at a male at an address on East Calvada Boulevard.
A Nye County Sheriff’s deputy reportedly spoke to seven different witnesses who made statements that a woman, subsequently identified as Parker, was seen pointing a firearm at a male.
The witnesses explained they saw Parker pointing the firearm and saying, “I am going to shoot you between the eyes.” The male victim reportedly refused to give any statements and said that “he loved her.”
Parker was subsequently placed under arrest and transported to the Nye County Detention Center and booked on charges of aiming a firearm at a human, possession of drug paraphernalia, and assault with a deadly weapon.
Man arrested for child endangerment
Eric Hemphill was charged with child endangerment, possession of marijuana, less than one ounce, possession of drug paraphernalia and parole and probation hold after deputies were dispatched to the area of Potro Drive and Bourbon Street on April 2 regarding two toddlers in the roadway.
The reporting party allegedly told deputies that Hemphill retrieved the children adding, “This happens all the time.”
Deputies attempted to make contact with Hemphill at the residence but no one would answer the door. Deputies noted they could hear several kids inside the home playing and while knocking, deputies received no answer. After deputies reportedly knocked and shouted through the windows for approximately 10 minutes they contacted Hemphill’s probation officer and advised him of the circumstances. The probation officer reportedly told deputies he would meet them.
After the probation officer arrived, deputies and the probation officer made a forced entry and found three toddlers as well as a large amount of drug paraphernalia, trash throughout the residence and what is believed to be feces on the floor.
Both parents reportedly told deputies they were asleep during the estimated 40 minutes that deputies were attempting to make contact. Hemphill reportedly stated he has been using marijuana and “took two puffs of meth” a “few weeks ago.”
Deputies noted in the arrest report that there is an extensive call history involving both parents relating to both narcotics and child endangerment issues.
Hemphill was subsequently arrested and transported to the jail and booked on charges of child endangerment, possession of marijuana, less than one ounce, possession of drug paraphernalia and parole and probation hold.
Man jailed for domestic battery
Gabriel Phillips was jailed on April 2 and charged with domestic battery after deputies were dispatched to a report of a physical domestic in progress at an address on East Calvada Boulevard.
When deputies arrived, they were met outside the apartment by both the victim and a male, later identified as Phillips. The victim reportedly told deputies she is the ex-girlfriend and roommate of Phillips, and was at the residence to pick up her belongings when they got into a verbal disagreement. When police arrived, the victim had a large, blackish-blue bruise swelling under her right eye.
Phillips reportedly said that the victim had started causing a scene when he asked her to leave. Phillips said he used his hands to turn her around and push her towards the bedroom door. When Phillips turned her around, the victim allegedly hit her face on a wall decoration, causing the lump and bruising.
The victim initially corroborated the events but when she learned that deputies intended to arrest Phillips, she reportedly became even more upset, yelling, crying and refusing to provide any further details at the time. The victim refused medical treatment or to provide a written statement.
However, she did provide a full verbal statement to the arresting officer. Phillips was subsequently taken into custody and transported to the jail and booked on the charge of domestic battery.
