Pahrump woman arrested for allegedly stealing car
A Pahrump woman was arrested last week after allegedly stealing an automobile with the keys left in it.
Imelda Madrigal-Villa was taken into custody by the Nye County Sheriff’s Office June 9 and charged with preliminary counts of possession of a stolen vehicle and grand larceny auto, after she allegedly took a man’s car who left the keys inside from the front of the CVS Pharmacy on Highway 160.
The victim said as he went into the retail store at 9:20 a.m., he noticed a woman, about 5-feet-2 inches tall, weighing around 100 pounds, with dark shoulder-length hair walking by his 1993 Toyota Tercel. When the man came back out after purchasing his items, he discovered his car was missing, police said.
About two hours later, at around 11:30 a.m., a sheriff’s deputy was dispatched to a call for a motorist assist. When the deputy arrived on the scene, a man said he called because he saw a female in the vehicle in question that seemed to be stranded, the arrest report said.
The man told the deputy that the woman was now in his truck and she was identified as Madrigal-Villa. The deputy made contact with Madrigal-Villa, who spoke little English, so with the assistance of an investigator, he advised her that the vehicle she was driving was reported stolen.
The woman alleged that she was with a white male at a store who offered her a ride. She claimed he left when the vehicle broke down, police said. Later, Madrigal-Villa claimed that she was never in the vehicle. While Madrigal-Villa was in the back of a patrol car, the deputy asked if she had the key to the alleged stolen vehicle and she pulled a piece of folded-up paper out of her pocket and retrieved the key from the paper.
The owner of the reported stolen vehicle arrived on scene and identified Madrigal-Villa as the woman he saw near his car while he went inside the CVS.
Madrigal-Villa was arrested and transported to the Nye County Detention Center on the two preliminary charges.
Woman arrested on several preliminary charges relating to alleged domestic incident
A Pahrump woman was arrested last week after an alleged domestic incident led to a preliminary charge of assault with a deadly weapon.
Salea Kreis was taken into custody Sunday by the Nye County Sheriff’s Office and charged with preliminary counts of assault with a deadly weapon, domestic battery and domestic battery with strangulation after the alleged incident.
On Sunday evening at 6:18 p.m., sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to a residence on the 2600 block of Bannavitch Street in reference to a domestic battery in progress.
Upon arriving at the scene, deputies discovered a man bleeding from his left elbow, who informed them that Kreis had inflicted the damage to him and she was still in his residence.
A sheriff’s deputy entered the residence and saw Kreis, and placed her into custody.
After taking Kreis to a patrol vehicle, a deputy took a statement from the male victim in which he claimed that Kreis tried to make him look bad in front of his wife because he watched pornography, police said.
The victim said Kreis then grabbed his cane and hit him on the left arm with it, resulting in a cut on his arm and his cane breaking in half, according to the arrest report.
Kreis then hit the man in the side of his head with a closed fist and then attempted to throw a bronze statue at the victim, police said.
The bronze statue missed the victim, falling to the floor, where it left a dent in the wood, the report stated. A deputy said he tried to lift the statue and he said he was barely able to lift it off the ground.
The victim’s wife corroborated the story when interviewed by a sheriff’s deputy, and said that Kreis tried to detain her by placing her arms around her neck.
Kreis eventually let go of the female victim and attempted to leave the area, but the vehicle she got into failed to start, police said.
Kreis was arrested on the three preliminary charges and transported to the Nye County Detention Center without further incident.
