Woman jailed after hit and run in parking lot
Rosalie Cascio was arrested on April 4 and charged with hit and run personal injury after deputies were dispatched to a report of a motor vehicle versus pedestrian accident in the parking lot of Walmart, 300 S. Highway 160, at approximately 3 p.m.
When deputies arrived, they were reportedly met by several witnesses who described the vehicle involved and the woman driving it. Deputies saw the victim who had been struck, lying in the roadway on his side.
A witness reportedly handed the deputies a piece of paper with a license plate number on it and said the female driver had left the scene. Walmart also provided surveillance video of the incident.
The victim was transported to Desert View Hospital by Pahrump Valley Fire Department. Deputies subsequently learned through dispatch that the vehicle belonged to Rosalie Cascio and provided an address.
When deputies made contact with Cascio, she reportedly admitted to hitting the victim and said she left the scene to “go get help,” and because she was scared.
Cascio was subsequently arrested and transported to the jail and booked on the charge of hit and run personal injury.
Man jailed for domestic battery, false imprisonment
Jason Middleton was jailed on April 4 and charged with domestic battery and false imprisonment after deputies with the Nye County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a report of a possible domestic battery at a residence on Bruce Street.
Deputies subsequently learned that the victim had also been involved in a previous domestic battery call on April 2.
The victim reportedly told deputies she thought that her ex-boyfriend, subsequently identified as Middleton, might be in her backyard and she was worried for her safety.
Deputies determined that Middleton was not at the residence. However, it was learned through an interview with the victim that Middleton might have committed the crime of false imprisonment during the previous call on April 2.
The victim provided deputies with a voluntary statement.
Middleton subsequently contacted deputies and said he would be turning himself in.
During an interview with Middleton he reportedly admitted to the physical altercation between himself and the victim, and he admitted he prevented the victim from leaving the residence at that time, forcing her to stay against her will.
Middleton was subsequently arrested and transported to the Nye County Detention Center and booked on the charges of domestic battery and false imprisonment.
