Beatty man arrested for violating restraining order
Brian James Everett was jailed on Thursday and charged with violating a temporary protective order after deputies were dispatched to a report of a possible violation.
Deputies subsequently met with the victim who reportedly stated that at approximately 7:23 a.m. on Thursday morning, Everett, who is listed as the adverse party of the temporary protective order had contacted her on her work phone and left a voicemail.
Deputies noted in the arrest report that Everett had been served the TPO paperwork on Wednesday at approximately 4:16 p.m. in Las Vegas.
At approximately 8 p.m. on Thursday evening, deputies were dispatched to a residence on North Beach in Beatty regarding a TPO violation report. When deputies arrived, they reportedly observed the victim standing outside her residence telling Everett that he needed to leave. Deputies observed Everett standing inside the residence.
Everett was subsequently placed under arrest and transported to the Nye County Detention Center and booked.
Traffic stop results in woman’s arrest for drugs
Patricia Ann Huffines-Neibauer was arrested on Friday and charged with under the influence of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, proof of insurance required and possession of a schedule one substance (methamphetamine).
Deputies were dispatched to the intersection of Leslie Road and Mesquite Road regarding a report of a person slumped in a vehicle.
When deputies arrived, they reportedly observed a female slumped over in the driver’s seat, asleep with the vehicle running.
Deputies attempted to get the woman’s attention but were unsuccessful. After opening the door, deputies made contact with the driver, identified as Huffines-Neibauer, who reportedly appeared very confused.
As deputies spoke with Neibauer, they noted her speech was very slow and slurred as well as noticing a clear baggie of a white crystalline substance inside the vehicle and a piece of tin foil lying on her lap. When asked to exit the vehicle, Neibauer reportedly had difficulty standing and was leaning on her vehicle.
Neibauer was reportedly unable to perform any field sobriety tests. When questioned about the white crystalline substance, Neibauer reportedly stated it was, “meth,” and it was her girlfriend’s.
Deputies questioned Neibauer about any narcotics or medications she might have taken and she reportedly stated that she was taking Oxycodone and Xanax.
When deputies conducted a search of the vehicle, they reportedly found multiple pieces of tin foil with burned trace marks on it. Neibauer was subsequently arrested and transported to the jail and booked.
Man jailed for home invasion
Thomas Mat Harris was jailed on Thursday and charged with possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, discharge firearm where others may be injured, malicious destruction of private property and home invasion after deputies were dispatched to a report of a possible burglary at a location on Turner Road.
As deputies were en route, they were advised that the suspect, identified as Harris, had left and was travelling westbound on Turner Road in a white pickup truck. Another deputy saw a vehicle matching the description as it turned from Homestead Road west onto Kellogg Road and conducted a traffic stop.
As deputies were speaking with Harris, he reportedly said he was trying to help people from dying and was looking for “Billy” to get his keys back and to stop him from killing phantom people.
When questioned about attempting to break into a residence on Turner Road, Harris admitted that he had and that he would pay for damages as well as damages to the fence that he ran over with his truck.
Deputies were granted permission to search the vehicle and located a gun that Harris admitted to having and firing earlier in the evening. When asked if he had used any methamphetamine, Harris reportedly stated that he had used methamphetamine two days prior. Harris was arrested and transported to the jail and booked.
