Man jailed for warrant, drugs found
Donald McFadden was arrested on July 8 and faces a preliminary charge of possession of a controlled substance - methamphetamine after deputies with the Nye County Sheriff’s Office were patrolling the parking lot of a local bar and reportedly observed McFadden walking up to a vehicle.
Deputies noted in the arrest report that they recognized McFadden and were aware of an active felony arrest warrant out of Tonopah District Court.
As deputies approached McFadden, they reportedly observed that he placed his hand in his right pants pocket and then walked around the front of the vehicle.
Deputies quickly ordered McFadden to the ground and he complied. McFadden was placed in handcuffs and advised that he had an active warrant of arrest for failure to pay child support and its related bail amount.
After he was arrested, deputies located a clear plastic baggy of suspected methamphetamine in the area that McFadden had taken when he walked around to the front of the vehicle.
McFadden was transported to the Nye County Detention Center, booked on above charges and held on $25,028 bond.
Man arrested for drugs, violating protective order
Dennis James Barker was arrested on July 6 and faces preliminary charges of violation of an emergency protective order, possession of a controlled substance â methamphetamine and possession of a firearm by a prohibited person after deputies responded to a report of a prowler call at LJ’s Market on South Pahrump Valley Boulevard.
When deputies located the suspect, identified as Barker, they reportedly saw that he had a firearm on his right side, in plain view. As deputies ran Barker through a records check, it returned that he had a protection order issued out of Victorville Superior Court in Victorville, California that was in effect until 2020.
As deputies were searching Barker, they reportedly found a clear plastic baggy of suspected methamphetamine. When asked about the suspected methamphetamine
Barker reportedly stated that he had been using, âoff and on for a few years.â
When asked if he would consider himself an addict, Barker said that he would.
Barker was transported to the jail and booked and held on $13,500 bond.
Deputies indicated in the arrest report that Barker had numerous felony convictions.
Woman jailed for burglary
Gina Moore was jailed on July 9 and faces a preliminary charge of burglary after deputies were called to a report of a theft at a residence on South Sycamore Avenue.
When deputies spoke with the victim, he reportedly stated that Moore had spent the night of July 7 at his home and when he woke up on the morning of July 8 he noticed that two of his watches were missing.
The victim explained that one of the watches was a gift from his son who is currently serving in Afghanistan and the other was a Rolex. The victim said he spoke with Moore and asked if she had taken the watches and she allegedly admitted that she had.
Deputies made contact with Moore on July 9 at her residence on East Street and she reportedly denied that she was at the victimâs home and did not know anything about the missing watches.
After continued questioning Moore admitted to taking one of the watches because the victim owed her money. Moore subsequently handed deputies one of the watches which they determined to be the missing watch that the victim had received from his son. Deputies noted that the watch was in Moore’s room located on a bookcase, behind some videotapes.
Moore was transported to the jail and booked and held on $5,000 bond.
