Roughly 1,200 people reportedly attended this year’s Autumn Health Awareness Festival hosted Saturday at Desert View hospital.
According to hospital staff, 34 vendors attended the event to present attendees with information on various health topics as well as to no-cost vision, dental and hearing testing and glucose and blood pressure screenings.
Almost 180 uninsured members of the community were provided with no-cost flu shots. And 29 of those individuals received Tdap vaccinations as well.
Roseman University Health Services’ Student Alliance group reportedly provided 300 glucose and blood pressure screenings and the local chapter of the Rotary gave away 250 free hot dogs to attendees.
“We’re very pleased with this year’s Autumn Health Awareness Festival,” Meagan Kowalski, Director of Marketing at Desert View Hospital, said. “We had a fantastic turnout and everyone had a great time. We look forward to hosting this event for many years to come.”
