As temperatures have begun to cool in Pahrump as of late, local fire crews are seeing less brush and structure fires, but service calls for motor vehicle collisions remain steady.
Last Wednesday, Oct. 26, fire crews responded to a single-vehicle rollover crash just before 7 a.m.
Fire Chief Scott Lewis said the occupants had self-extricated prior to their arrival.
All are expected to recover.
The following day, fire crews were summoned to south Highway 160 near CAAS Road for a single-vehicle rollover crash at 5:45 a.m.
Upon arrival, crews found an elderly male had self-extricated himself from the vehicle and was transported to Desert View Hospital, where he is also expected to recover.
On Saturday, fire crews were dispatched to the 3200 block of Blosser Ranch Road for a motor vehicle crash with injuries just after 2:32 a.m.
“It was initially reported to be a rollover accident but it was found to be a vehicle vs. utility pole where the utility pole was compromised,” Lewis said. “Upon arrival, crews found four male juveniles standing on the side of the road. All had self-extricated. One of juveniles sustained a head injury and that person was transported to Base 21 and flown to UMC Trauma in Las Vegas by Mercy Air 21. In addition to that one patient, three were transported by ground to the local hospital.”
On Sunday, fire crews were dispatched to the area of Trout Canyon for another one-vehicle rollover crash just before 5 p.m.
“It was approximately nine miles east of Highway 160,” Lewis said. “Upon arrival, crews found a vehicle resting on its side. One patient had self-extricated with injuries, however that patient decided not to go to the hospital.”
