Fourth of July weather looks ‘pretty pleasant’

Southern Nye County residents can expect much of the same weather conditions they’ve been experiencing this past week for the Fourth of July on Monday.

Meteorologist Todd Lericos from the National Weather Service said the conditions are more than suitable for backyard barbecues and other holiday-related activities.

“Independence Day actually looks pretty nice with a high of 103, with the morning lows in the lower 70’s,” he said. “It looks pretty pleasant.”

The weekend weather outlook also calls for lots of sunshine with temperatures hovering at the century mark.

“We’re looking at highs in the upper 90’s to lower 100’s,” Lericos said. “Even though we’re getting some rain activity here, once we start hitting the weekend, that rain is expected to clear out. No lightning is expected over the weekend.”

Today Pahrump residents can expect a daytime high of 100 degrees with an evening low of 76 degrees under clear skies.

Saturday will be slightly cooler with an expected daytime high of 99 degrees followed by an overnight low of 73 degrees.

Sunday and Monday the daytime high will climb to 102 degrees, with evening lows of 68 and 67 degrees respectively.

Next weekend the mercury will begin to rise upward of 110 degrees, come Saturday.
