It’s a safe bet to say the Gershwin brothers will always be remembered as the songwriting team whose voices were synonymous with the sounds and style of the American Jazz Age.
As such, officials with the Pahrump Arts Council want to keep their memory alive with a special performance courtesy of Theater Las Vegas.
The council is holding the performance, “Give Me Gershwin,” highlighting George and Ira Gershwin’s contribution to musical theater inside Pahrump Valley High’s auditorium at 2 p.m. on Saturday.
Tickets are $10.
The performance was originally scheduled last weekend but was postponed due to scheduling conflicts.
Attendees can expect to see singing and dancing performances from the duo’s finest numbers including An American in Paris, Rhapsody in Blue and musical numbers from the opera Porgy and Bess.
Tickets are available at the Pahrump Art Gallery adjacent to the library and the Pahrump Chamber of Commerce.
