For those students looking to get ahead on their degree requirements, or those who want to stay busy over the winter break, Great Basin College has the answer.
Winter short-term classes are open for registration until Dec. 19 for those hoping to take one of the various month-long courses, which runs from Dec. 19 through Jan. 21.
GBC recommends signing up as early as possible to ensure the availability of the course you want.
Winter session courses will begin Dec. 19 and end on Jan. 21.
All winter courses will be instructed online and include: English 101: Composition I, English 102: Composition II, IS 201: Introduction to Information Systems, PSC 100: The Nevada Constitution, PSC 101: Introduction to American Politics, PSC 210: American Public Policy and Theatre 100: Introduction to Theatre.
In addition to the condensed winter classes, GBC is also offering multiple short-term classes in the spring semester. The two eight-week sessions in the spring take place between Jan. 23 through March 18 and March 27 and May 20.
Classes offered in the spring include Anthropology, Computer Office Technology, Education, Information Systems, Math, Political Science and Theatre.
In addition, the math department is offering short-term Math Pathways, which lets students complete two required math courses in one semester.
For the spring semester, students can enroll in the following eight-week math courses at the same time.
The first session includes Math 91 section 1003 and 1006, with the second session including Math 95 section 1003 and 1009.
Then there’s a first session consisting of Math 95 section 1006, with the second session featuring Math 96 section 1004.
Lastly, there’s a first session beginning with Math 96 section 1005 with the second session including whether Math 120 section 1004 or Math 126 section 1006.
