A hit television series wants to meet any and all collectors in the Pahrump Valley.
American Pickers is a documentary series exploring the fascinating world of what’s known as antique picking on the History Channel.
The show follows Mike Wolfe and Frank Fritz, described as two of the most skilled ‘pickers’ in the business, as they hunt for America’s most valuable antiques.
Casting associate Cat Raynor said the duo are always excited to find sizable, unique collections and learn the interesting stories behind them.
“As they hit the back roads from coast to coast, Mike and Frank are on a mission to recycle and rescue forgotten relics,” she said. “Along the way, they want to meet characters with remarkable and exceptional items.”
Raynor also said the pair will film episodes in the Silver State, to air later this year to give historically significant objects a new lease on life, while learning a thing or two about America’s past along the way.
“Mike and Frank and their team are excited to return to Nevada,” she said. “The show will film Nevada in spring and the hosts are looking for people in Pahrump with unique and antique collections, along with the interesting stories behind them. We are trying to get the word out as soon as possible, so the sooner people with large collections reach out to us, the better.”
One caveat, Raynor noted, was Wolfe and Fritz are seeking out only private collectors in the Pahrump Valley.
“They don’t want flea markets, museums, or auctions or any business that is open to the public,” she said. “Mike and Frank have seen a lot of rusty gold over the years and would love to explore your hidden treasure. They can spend the better part of the day looking through private collections or an accumulation of antiques. They are always looking to discover something they’ve never seen before.”
