BUSINESS:Three French Hens

BACKGROUND: “I got into antiques in California with a friend. I was a collector of china from Bavaria and old plates and I decided to sell them in an antique co-op store. Then five years later after my son started school, an antique store gave me the opportunity to keep working and be home when my son got home from school. I just then started collecting more things and kept getting bigger. About nine years later, I got my own store with a friend and kept that going until my husband retired and we moved here. That was in 2011. I just continued selling here in Pahrump Online and now I have had my store in Pahrump for a year.”
FIRST JOB: “My first job was working in South San Francisco and I was a yarn plumper. I actually packaged yarn kits for afghans.”
YEARS IN BUSINESS: “I worked for 29 years in the antique business.”
PERSONAL: “I enjoy traveling and someday want to go to Paris with my husband.”
BUSINESS CLIMATE: I think the business climate is favorable to antique stores and we need more. I love this town and although we are competitive in this town most of the stores like mine are on good terms with each other and we talk to each other all the time.”
