IN PROFILE: Andrea Little

BUSINESS: Owner Liberty Tax Service

AGE: 53

BACKGROUND: “I am a licensed Realtor/Broker. I am also a Certified Property Manager for AaimHigh Realty. I’ve worked in real estate for 23 years. I’m a certified tax preparer and when tax season starts, I take a leave of absence from real estate to prepare taxes.”

FIRST JOB: “I worked as a cashier for Taco Charlie in Citrus Heights, Calif.”

YEARS IN BUSINESS: “I moved to Pahrump 26 years ago and have been in business with Liberty Tax Service since 2007. I’m a former member of the Rotary and the Chamber of Commerce but when my kids came along, I just didn’t have time anymore. We do support the local food banks, Relay for Life and are a national sponsor for the March of Dimes. We also help charity organizations with gift certificates they can use as raffle prizes. I’m very involved with my church as well.”

PERSONAL: “I almost died 14 years ago. I can survive anything. I’m determined and always persevere.”

BUSINESS CLIMATE: “I love Pahrump. It’s quiet, there are no crowds and we only have three stoplights. I do believe the local government has gotten away from what’s best for Pahrump with all the fees and regulations. It precludes a lot of businesses coming here and a lack of jobs. We should disband the regional planning commission. Pahrump isn’t big enough for it. Government on all levels should get out of the way and let businesses do what they must to make a little money and expand, which ultimately creates jobs.”
