IN PROFILE: James ‘Frosty’ Frost

BUSINESS: Driver for Integrity Taxi

AGE: 54

BACKGROUND: “I worked for Saddle West off and on over the years in the Player’s Club, at the hotel desk, as a key check and in the dining room as a waiter. I’ve also worked for H & M Pipe Supply. I love to drive and before I moved here, I was an independent executive courier in Denver, Colo.

“I was with Pahrump Taxi until the business was shut down.”

FIRST JOB: “I worked as a prep cook for Bimbo’s at Ellsworth Air Force Base in Ellsworth, S.D. I was 12 at the time and making big money at $1.10 an hour.”

YEARS IN BUSINESS: “I have lived in Pahrump for 14 years and always been in the workforce here. I do my volunteer work with the food banks, either picking up supplies for the elderly or disabled or giving them a ride.”

“I worked in a street ministry in California years ago.”

PERSONAL: “I love spending time sleeping in. It’s my favorite hobby. I enjoy spending time with friends.”

BUSINESS CLIMATE: “They need to make it easier than it was for Walmart when it comes to opening a new business here. I believe in shopping locally and supporting the community’s other small businesses. I am a small-town guy and like it in quiet communities.

“I’ve built a loyal clientele with the taxi service and most of them are shopping locally as well. The shuttle is being used mostly for airport service and if someone needs to get services out of Vegas, it serves as transport to a drop-off spot where the riders can get another taxi.”
