IN PROFILE: Jennifer Stauffer

BUSINESS: Office Manager for Integrity Taxi

AGE: 45

BACKGROUND: “I drove a limousine in Las Vegas for 13 years. I’ve run several hair salons and worked for Bear’s Pest Control for about a year and a half.”

FIRST JOB: “I was a hostess for a restaurant in Disneyland.”

YEARS IN BUSINESS: “I have lived here since 2002 and joined the Moose Lodge in 2003. I am the secretary of the bowling league.

Personally, I enjoy volunteering with the Moose Lodge and I donate to personal tragedy fundraisers here. I also volunteer for Relay for Life.”

PERSONAL: “I love to go camping. I also like to read and watch movies. I’m an avid animal lover. When I was working for Bear’s Pest Control, people would express concern about the pesticides and their animals. I would tell them, ‘The only one who love your pets more than you do is me.’”

BUSINESS CLIMATE: “I think the chamber of commerce has a good idea with the shop local campaign. For the most part, the community is willing to support local businesses. There is help and support here to help those wanting to start a business to get it off of the ground, such as NCREDA, and more is available all the time.

“We need new businesses to use those support systems and create jobs. It helps to remember the dynamics here and be supportive.”
