After 14 years of business in the valley, Pahrump Party Supply will close its doors this week with the original owners at the helm.
Lisa and Bob Holleman told the Pahrump Valley Times in July that they are retiring after their long run due to health issues.
To ensure they can get the most inventory out of the building before they exit the business for good, the store is hosting a final storewide closeout sale through Saturday.
Prices will be marked down on everything in the store from 30 percent to 70 percent.
Items include art supplies, wedding and birthday cake and candy, scrapbooking supplies, costumes, Halloween decor, Christmas items and New Year’s Eve items as well.
The store’s Facebook page has a banner stating, “Retirement Nov. 6!” at the top, alerting their loyal customers that they are on the cusp of heading out.
Although the store is going to be closed for at least a week, from Nov. 8 until Nov. 15, the future of the business is up in the air.
Longtime customers who are under the impression that the store is closing are sad to see the store close.
“I don’t want them to go,” one customer who wanted to remain anonymous stated.
The woman’s teenage daughter Cynthia, who has been been shopping at the store for Halloween costumes for the past six years would miss the variety the store has, if it were to go for good.
“It’s going to be a lot harder to find a good costume,” Cynthia said. “Other stores around here don’t have the best selection.”
In addition, the party decor that Pahrump Party Supply offers is another benefit of the store, which concentrated on holiday and special occasion decor and art.
“They’re not going to be able to do a lot of the party stuff that they think they might be able to do until it’s gone,” Cynthia said. “There’s a lot of things that you can’t get at other stores that you can get here.”
Although the future of the business is a mystery at this point, there could be a happy ending on the horizon.
Employees of the popular party store hinted that the store could reopen as early as Nov. 16, but the circumstances to that possible outcome were not disclosed.
