NCSO looking for man involved in shooting incident

Law enforcement needs the public’s help in identifying an alleged shooting suspect from an incident earlier this week.

The Nye County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a white male with short blonde hair, who allegedly shot several rounds from a handgun near Yakima Street. The suspect was last seen fleeing the area in a silver 2004 through 2008 model Nissan Altima.

Deputies were dispatched to the area near Yakima Street after several reports of shots being fired were called in. Patrol units arrived and assessed the scene, discovering that no one had been hit by the gunfire and that a stop sign had been hit with several rounds from a handgun.

Deputies discovered that a resident’s home on Yakima Street had been struck by the suspect’s gunfire. It was determined that the suspect fired into the home from his vehicle, according to police.

A patrol division requested that detectives respond to process the scene and obtained the suspect’s vehicle description, but could not relay a license plate number.

The Nye County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect and his vehicle. The suspect is considered to be armed and dangerous. If seen, the public should not approach the suspect or his vehicle, but rather call 911 immediately.

Once apprehended, the suspect faces preliminary counts of discharge a gun upon a public street, discharge gun from a vehicle, discharge a gun into a structure, discharge a gun where person may be injured and injury to property.

The case is ongoing, anyone with information regarding this case is urged to contact Detective Cory Fowles at 775-751-7000 or anonymously at ncso_detectives@co.nye.nv.us.
